Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

I had to have one of my dishwashers serviced this week; I have the dish drawers that run independently. While the technician was here he informed me about a change that the City of Tampa made to the way our water is treated. They changed from a liquid chorine to a powder substance earlier this year. The treatment saves the city, and us, a bunch of money. However, if you use Cascade in your dishwasher, you are now getting an ugly film on your dishes. The chemicals in Cascade and our water do not work well together any longer. You are probably also seeing hard water gunk in and around your dishwasher.

Here is the fix, I tried it and was amazed at how quickly it cleared the film. Switch to Electrasol AND add a ½ teaspoon of LemiShine to each load. I was instructed to leave the slot where you put the Electrasol into open and sprinkle the LemiShine in that opening and all over the rest of the dishwasher. That way the LemiShine works during the pre-wash and the wash cycles.

Our Publix carries both of these products.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Christie

Do NOT use the blocks that come in the little packages. Dishwasher man says they do not dissolved all the way and end up in the bottom of your washer, clogging things up after awhile!
