Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Final community workshop for Form Based Zoning in Seminole Heights is tonight. If you have any questions or concerns about this new zoning being written for our area, please make every effort to attend this meeting. It starts at 6pm at the Regan Center at 1200 Lake Ave.

For those that attended last night's workshop I thank you. We worked in breakout sessions to 'develop' different commercial parcels in our neighborhood. It was fun and interesting to see how the 'lot's were developed. Of course, it would be a stretch to see of any developers would agree with the proposals. There will be more planning sessions in the next few months, watch your mail for a postcard from the city.
