Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

It is not even June and we have our first Tropical Depression. Thank goodness it is not going to affect any of the US. Krewes Kare, Inc, a 501c(3) Hurricane Relief organization is having the 1st Annual “Krewes Kare Hurricane Bowl this Saturday evening at University Lanes. Everyone is welcome to attend and participate, however there is a limit of 50 teams. A team consists of 6 bowlers. Registration for the event begins at 7pm. Tickets are $25.00 per team member and $15.00 for non-bowlers, and are fully tax-deductible. To purchase tickets or make a donation go to the website at www.kreweskare.org or call Yvonne Painton at 813.839.1302 ext. 629 or Visann Friscia at 813.767.7607.

Those attending will have a great barbecue and buffet (included in your entry fees) and drink specials like “Storm Shooters,” all night long. There will be raffles for outstanding prizes, door prizes just for being there, and of course, bowling awards. The lanes are filling up quickly, so get in early! Come on out, have fun and help us help others.
