Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Want to be on the Board of OSHNA? I know things look pretty bad right now, but in October you have a chance to be part of a new board that could pick up the pieces and make a positive difference. The nomination period will begin in July for 30 days. Get your name out there and start making introductions now. Even if you think that secession is the answer, take the opportunity to work on an existing board to see the work involved if you really want to have a successful neighborhood association.

Why? The same ole same ole powers that have been there for years will be re-elected, no change.
What would be refreshing if those same ole people would NOT run and allow new fresh candidates so there is no competition. Just like in congress, time limits are needed. If not the law (or in the by-laws) they will keep running and running and running. I think some possible candidates won't run against them because they feel they have no chance. My take and yes, I agree it does look bad these days with The OSHNA.
