Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Hello all--
With Seminole Heights and Tampa Heights both being urban neighborhoods impacted by the interstate and major surface roads we are impacted by a lot of billboards. We need to get word out and get this on people’s radar. So here is a quick heads up. The light pollution from these things is horrific. One of these monstrosities will light up the night blocks away. Tell City Council not to cave into pressure from the Iorio administration, Clear Channel or CBS Outdoors. I will forward a copy of the ordinance once I have it. Trust me the limits proposed will likely not impair the Billboard companies from doing anything they really want to do!

Please pass the word to your friends and neighbors. The council meeting is on Thursday during the day. I can’t attend but we need Heights neighbors to call and e-mail City Council, and attend if at all possible.

This is a very important issue. Digital signs on Nebraska would be terrible. So, please write your city council members. Better yet, if you can be at city council on Thursday, the 15th, please come and speak up against this terrible idea.

Thanks, Susan
