Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

CVS set to go before Tampa City Council for approval of the newest buisness to land in Seminole Heights. You can voice your opinion by emailing City Council or attending the January 28th meeting. The location for this site is the southeast corner of Sligh and Nebraska Aves. Currently the site houses a used car lot, an apartment building and a roofing business. It is a large site as you can see in the proposed elevations linked below. CVS has worked with area leaders to bring their standard urban storefront more inline with the Seminole Heights Form-based Zoning guidelines. In doing so, they were able to save 3 grand trees. However these same trees did not allow for any further movement towards fully realizing the Form-based designs. Saving the trees was considered a better choice by all involved in the discussions.

The plans can be viewed by clicking Seminole Heights CVS Elevations and Landscape Exhibit
