Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

A new buzz in the air

On Sunday morning while getting ready for the football game, I saw a large bug flying in the back part of the yard. Upon further review, I discovered that it was a green hummingbird! This was a wonderful surprise, as we have been trying for years to attract hummingbirds to our garden. Stuart immediately went to Home Depot to invest in yet another hummingbird feeder. I don't know if this hummingbird has been back to the feeder, but I hope he returns soon. I suggest that if you want to attract a hummingbird to your yard, now might be a good time to set up a feeder. We have a bird looking for food and I am told that if he finds food, he will setup a home to raise more hummingbirds.
