Welcome to the Blogging from Evelyn City site. This blog is intended to be used as another arena for sharing ideas, events, issues and concerns for those of us who live in the neighborhood. I have lived here since 1994 and my husband moved into our home in 1989. In the time I have lived here, I have seen how the efforts of a few can make a postive change for everyone to enjoy. We are seeing more and more young couples and childern in the neighborhood. It used to be a rare site to see someone walking a dog around the block, much less see a mother push a stroller around the block. That now happens on a regular basis. Are there still problems, sure there are, but I think that if we all continue to work together, we can get past those problems. This neighborhood was built at a time when the concept of neighbor helping neighbor was taken for granted, and I think that we could take a few pages from that time.
When responding on this blog, please respect one another views. I encourage members of the younger population to share their views on life in this neighborhood.
I have some ideas as to the limits on the type of information that will be included in the blog, but I would like to hear from you what you would like to see posted here. Just remember, as the owner of the blog, I have the final say as to the content posted. If I feel that postings are not appropreiate or contain private information, I will remove them. If you feel that a posting is inappropreiate, please let me know and I will review it.
Thank you

Way to go, Christie! This site has been needed for a long time! Thanks for doing our work for us!
Does anyone else have an issue with the speed at which cars travel up and down Broad Street? I have written to the city a couple of times about it. They came out and checked the speed of the cars and they said it was acceptable. Maybe if enough people complained the city would do something. Speed bumps perhaps???
I hate the speed of the traffic. The head of transportation thinks that if MOST of the cars aren't speeding, then the actual speed of the minority is irrelevant. But, I agree. We need to complain more.
