Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Report from Code Board on Wednesday, Feb 14:

After we left Code today, Scott Bittman, owner of Cycle Masters, showed up. The hearing master re-opened the hearing. Mr. Bittman had his contracts but no permits. Code gave him 7 days to remove the rebar across the alley and if he doesn't he accrues $500/day fines. They gave him 90 days to get everything cleaned out from behind the building - - everything! If he doesn't he gets a $500/day fine. He is also ordered to build the building he keeps talking about. From the time code sees the building is completed (limited time) he has 30 days to get everything out of the "junk yard" he has acquired on Broad St behind the Pawn shop. He has 7 days to remove his streamers from the front of his place. (The streamers go to Code Board next week).
Not as good as they originally said, but better than hoped. That's $1,000 per day!
Bittman is finally getting the message that we and the city are serious about his cleaning up his crap!

Cycle Masters is going back up to board for other stuff. Fines are acucujmulating and the rate per daywill double in a month. It's time for them to clean up their act. Next hearing is 3/1. Anyone who wants to go is welcome, butthis one is for illegal signs. (I think it's theones hanging on hisfence).

Well, the house at the corner of 12th &Crenshaw is going before Code board on 3/7. Maybe they'll FINALLY finishpainting it and get thePOD outof there. They've beencited for having a multi unit rental while being zoned single family. They're alsocited for accumulations and structural stuff like bad eaves. It's time they cleaned uptoo.
