Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Recent lessons learned that could keep you safe:

1. Make sure that all windows are closed and locked.

2. If your house has an alarm system, USE IT, whether it is monitored or not. The alarm will still sound even if there is no alarm company monitoring it.

3. If you have dogs, put them to work inside the house.

4. If you are going to use double-sided deadbolts, please don’t leave a key in the lock. Instead hide the key somewhere such that all of the occupants will know where to find it.

5. Don't advertise that you purchased some new stuff. Cut up the boxes and put them in the blue bins or take them to a cardboard recycling location.
