Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Wow, what a great time was had last Friday night by everyone attending our 1st Holiday Progressive Dinner. The weather was cold enough to really set the scene for the holiday spirit. I would like to thank each of the following hosts for opening their homes for this party: Marilib & Jim Maloy, Susan Long, Nancy & Jim Alferdson, Karen & Chuck Barreto and lastly my husband for spending hours getting our house ready to host.

We really appreciate all of you who attended and welcome the new neighbors that came out to meet everyone. This was a great first try at doing this dinner and we learned a few things that will be used to make the next one even better. One good thing that we tried was using a 'little red wagon' to move the drinks from house to house. The next Progressive Dinner will be in the April/May timeframe and we are looking for 4-5 new houses to host that one. Let me know if you are interested.

Okay, 35+ people was great. Next time we need more. Since the weather will be warmer, seating inside will not be such a problem.
