Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Monday, March 30th marks the start of the U.S. Census.
Some facts you should know about the Census include:
• Census workers will start in the morning and will end before dark.
• Census workers may work any day of the week, including weekends.
• Census workers will have an ID Badge with them and will be carrying a black canvas bag marked “U.S. CENSUS BUREAU” (Note: Their ID Badge will not have a photo of the census worker on it).
• Census workers will be using a hand-held computer to scan in citizen’s addresses.

The census should end sometime in the first part of July.

If you want to verify if someone at your home really is a census worker, ask them for their name from behind your closed, locked door and call the U.S. Census Bureau at 813-367-4411.
