We would like to invite you to get involved with our latest project: ECO.lution, 2009. The Urban Charrette is a collaborative that seeks to educate and empower the community to support the development of a more livable city. In 2008, we initiated ECO.lution, a project designed to expose the Tampa community to the elements of a livable city through a series of entertaining and educational events.
SCHEDULE
This year, There are three main components that make up ECO.lution. First on April 23rd is ECO.expo, a sustainable products show being held at the Ritz Theatre in Ybor city. Next on April 25th is ECO|festival at Cotanchobee Park, in Downtown Tampa, and finally our restaurant/gallery hop, Paint the Town Green will be held on May 1st throughout the urban core neighborhoods. In addition to these primary events, smaller educational events will also be held around town to allow additional opportunities to learn more about the City and its environments.

Volunteer Meeting
To introduce our volunteers and our community to ECO.lution, the Urban Charrette will be hosting a volunteer meeting at Mise En Place on Thursday April 26th, 2009. The meeting will begin at 5:30pm with a brief thirty minute meet and greet. At 6:00pm the Urban Charrette will make a short presentation concerning ECO.lution events and volunteer responsibilities. Mise En Place will provide a complimentary appetizers and a drink for all attendees. We will also be introducing our volunteers to a friendly vendor/sponsor competition, with some great prizes up for grabs!

Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood
Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.
