Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Have you received a 'suspicious check that looks for real' from Publishers Clearing House? At least one person in our area has and apparently a couple more households in the Hampton Terrace area have. The trick is they want you to deposit the check and then send a check in that amount back to the sender to cover 'processing fees'. Publishers Clearing House does not operate that way. Call TPD (231-6130) and report the check as a scam, they will have someone come by to take a report and retrieve the check from you for cases currently being processed. Thinking that it would do no harm in depositing the check, think again - it will bounce and you will pay the returned check charges.
