Welcome to the Evelyn City Neighborhood

Evelyn City is a subdivision of a large Tampa neighborhood known as Old Seminole Heights and was initially developed in the early 1900s. For the purposes of this blog, the boundaries will be: the Hillsborough River to the north, 275 to the West, 22nd Street to the East and Sligh Ave to the South.
There are many issues that need to be addressed and resolved in the area, however I feel that this is a great neighborhood to live in. We have a wonderful diversity of homes, people, parks, and businesses.

Some humor. As some of you know we just returned from a week long cruise to the Caribbean and were lucky enough to have calm waters and sunny skies. Our cruse director shared these questions/comments that have been made in the past to cruise staff:

Is that island surrounded by water? (really, what is the definition of an island?)

Is the water in the toilet fresh water or salt water? (who cares)

What happens if you don't close the lid on the toilet before you flush it? (a very nasty hickey on the body part closest to the toilet)

What happens to the ice sculptures once they are melted?

Does the ship generate its own electricity? (no, a very long extension cord is extended through the sea from the starting point and recoiled as it returns)

Does the crew and staff go home at night? (and they would commute from where?)

A complaint was received about the microwave not working in a guest room. When the staff went to investigate, they actually found food in the room safe trying to be warmed.

What altitude are we cruising at? (That would be sea level)

What time is the midnight buffet?

Is the TV in the room Cable or Satellite? (once again a cable is extended and recoiled - NOT)
